As a result, the question of how to delete the cover pictures comes up more and more frequently, and this is how this small guide came about.
After logging in to Facebook, click on your name in the blue bar at the top right.
Below the current cover photo there are now several boxes, such as friends, map, etc. Here you click on the box under which photos are displayed.
(The order of the boxes may be slightly different for everyone)
Now you are in the album view, here you have to switch to the album title pictures, to do this simply click on the picture above the title picture lettering or on the word title pictures. (By the way, you can’t delete the cover photo album, and you can’t assign permissions, it’s always public, so I like to compare it to the Windows folder, which you can’t easily delete under normal circumstances 😉 )
You are now in the “Cover Pictures” album. Just click on the picture you want to delete. I’ll take the first picture in the series here.
The image now appears slightly larger. If you now move the mouse pointer over the image, a menu bar will appear at the bottom edge of the image. Now click on Options. (If you don’t move the mouse for about 5 seconds, the menu disappears again).
After clicking on options, a context menu appears, here you click on delete photo.
Now you will be asked if you really want to delete the picture. Now click on Confirm and the picture will be deleted.
As far as I know, you have to do this with each individual picture, there doesn’t seem to be a selection that allows you to delete several cover pictures at once.
There could be a few reasons as to why you can’t delete your cover photo post on Facebook. One reason could be that you’re not the original poster of the cover photo. In order to delete a post, you must be the original poster or have admin rights to the post. If you are not the original poster, you can report the post to Facebook for them to take action. Another reason why you may not be able to delete your post is if it’s a comment on someone else’s post. In order to delete a comment, you must have admin rights to the post. If you are not the admin of the post, you can report the comment to Facebook for them to take action. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/. Thank you for your understanding.”
